Interconnection standards define how a distributed generation system, such as solar photovoltaics (PVs), can connect to the grid. In some areas of the United States, the interconnection process lacks consistent parameters and procedures for connecting to the grid or is unnecessarily complex. This drives up costs and causes delays, which can be significant barriers to project development. The ability to interconnect to the grid in a cost-effective and timely manner may determine whether a project moves forward or not. The continued growth of the distributed solar market has prompted electric utilities, regulators, and others to consider improvements to the interconnection processes.

Overview
The Rebates & Interconnection Representative’s purpose is to drive the Rebates & Interconnection
pipelines forward, be an expert in multiple utility and rebate requirements and handle escalations to
ensure customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Monitor Dashboards for required tasks
- Monitor automation tools as needed to meet requirements and timelines
- Monitor and follow up on the rebate reservation and payment, as well as Interconnection approval process within Service Level Agreement
- Prepare and Submit documents for utilities and/or incentive programs within Service Level Agreement
- Be the Subject Matter Expert in assigned markets on all Interconnection/incentive program requirements and processes and serve as a resource for internal stakeholders
- Coordinate with other teams to ensure timely response to program requirements and corrections
- Own creation and maintenance of training and reference materials
- Train new team members on processes
- Identify areas of opportunity for pipeline efficiency gains and process improvement
- Proactively identifies program requirement changes and potential risks
- Problem solve internal/external escalations quickly in coordination with other teams and communicate resolution in a professional manner
- Own communication of existing requirements, delays, updates and requirement changes from the utility or incentive program to team leadership and other internal departments
- Perform discovery in new market research and help lead process implementation
- Drive action and identification of potential risks through dynamic reporting on pipeline metrics
- Analyze trends and challenges with interconnection/incentive pipelines and enact possible solutions
- Identify areas of opportunity for pipeline efficiency gains and process improvement
- Review incentive milestones to release payments to Channel Partners
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
